need help with Verizon land line

does anyone know who to contact about a phone line not working. we have gone through the online and have called verizon but no luck. my mother-in-law's phone has not worked since Dec 18 and so far we can't get anyone on the phone who has any bit of knowledge of their job. we've reported this at least 10 times and still nothing.
    any advice would be great.
btw it is so important because where she lives there is no cell signal so using a cell phone till the problem is resolved is not an option.

    thanks

My coworker had the same problem - lines down since Dec 18. She'd call from work, cell, use the online form, and until this week they kept saying "we see no problem at the location in question, all lines are repaired" when the line had been laying on the ground since the storm. She's supposedly getting hers fixed by tomorrow.

She just had to keep calling and finally get someone to turn in the report.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

Re: need help with Verizon land line

Keep calling is my suggestion. Nothing related to Dec 18th...but last summer,, everytime it rained the phone would go out. Call, service tech came out.. said it was fixed and it would work until it rained again. Went thru several service calls,,, until it was finally fixed. The tech said that all new lines needed to be run, but VZ would not spend the money until the fiber was run... It is hard to believe the electricty was out from 12/18-12/31.. and never lost phone service. Everything amazes me everyday. Is this a new millineum??

If you live in Big Stone Gap, then go to the verizon building there. They always have a person there who actually works on the lines and they have told me before that if you can't get any satisfaction from online and calling, to just come down there.
